Russian President Vladimir Putin is ready for talks on Ukraine, said Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, APA’s Moscow bureau reports.
According to Lavrov, if the talks are serious, Putin is prepared to take part in them.
Commenting on a question about a possible visit to Moscow by U.S. President Donald Trump’s Special Envoy Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, Lavrov stressed that all previous meetings between the Russian leader and U.S. representatives had been serious.
“Putin’s meetings with Witkoff and Kushner were serious and aimed at eliminating the root causes of the crisis in Ukraine,” Lavrov said.
He added that Moscow remains open to contacts with Witkoff and Kushner and that their interests will be met with understanding by Russia.
