US actions may encourage Iran to develop nuclear weapons, said Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, APA’s Moscow bureau reports.
According to him, the United States does not attack those who possess nuclear bombs.
The Russian foreign minister warned that if Tehran decides to acquire nuclear weapons, neighboring countries will also begin developing them: “Russia is firmly opposed to violations of the principles of nuclear non-proliferation and to a possible nuclear arms race. At present, there is a risk that the situation in this area may spiral out of control.”
