Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has commented on the statements of Kaja Kallas, the European Union’s High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, regarding the elections in Armenia, APA reports, citing TASS.
Lavrov said that Kallas’s promise to help Armenia in combating harmful foreign interference in elections, as she did in Moldova, is “an admission of guilt.”
The head of the Russian Foreign Ministry noted that “the West actively interferes in the elections of other countries, and interference in the internal affairs of sovereign states is one of the clearest manifestations of neocolonialism.”
Note that Kaja Kallas, who stated that elections will be held in Armenia next year, announced that official Yerevan requested help from the EU in preventing foreign interference. Earlier, Kaja Kallas also claimed that Russia is intensifying its disinformation campaign in Armenia ahead of the parliamentary elections scheduled for 2026.
