Russian TV host Vladimir Solovyov may be declared persona non grata in Kyrgyzstan, said Askat Alagozov, press secretary to the President of Kyrgyzstan, APA reports.
According to him, an official decision regarding Solovyov’s status will be made in line with established procedures. “I am aware that members of parliament have put forward a proposal to declare Solovyov persona non grata. There is a specific procedure for this. Let us see how the issue will be reviewed,” he said.
Solovyov had earlier referred to Central Asia as “our region” and stated that a “special military operation” could be carried out in Russia’s zones of influence. Vladimir Solovyov also suggested the possibility of a “special military operation” being conducted in Armenia. Following these statements, a proposal was made to strip Solovyov of the Order of Honor of the Republic of Armenia. Russia’s Ambassador Sergey Kopirkin was subsequently summoned to Armenia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, where a note of protest was delivered expressing deep outrage over the statements made on a state television broadcast.
