The United States Treasury Department’s decision not to extend the license easing sanctions on Russian oil was expected, said Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov, APA’s Moscow bureau reports.
According to him, this was predictable. “This was one of the possible scenarios. You know that we have been living under the burden of sanctions for months and years, sanctions which we consider illegal under international law... We have learned to act in a way that minimizes the impact of such measures on our interests. We will do so,” the Kremlin spokesperson emphasized.
Note that yesterday, U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent stated that the United States would not extend the license easing sanctions on Russian oil due to the war in Iran.
