"Russia, like many other countries, consistently opposes the US blockade against Cuba," said Russian Presidential Spokesman Dmitry Peskov, APA’s Moscow bureau reports.
The Kremlin spokesperson noted that, like many countries around the world, Russia has continuously opposed the blockade of the island.
“Russia is developing relations with Cuba, values them, and intends to support the island in difficult times,” Peskov said.
He added that Russia does not believe US support for blockaded Cuba would in any way affect Washington’s contacts with Moscow regarding Ukraine. According to him, these are unrelated issues.
