Russian President Vladimir Putin held a telephone conversation with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, APA's Moscow bureau reports, citing the Kremlin.
Putin and Pashinyan discussed the outcomes of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council meeting held in Astana on May 29.
During the conversation, Putin also congratulated the Armenian leader on his birthday.
It should be noted that at the meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council in Astana on May 29, the presidents of Russia, Kazakhstan, Belarus and Kyrgyzstan adopted a statement regarding Armenia's position in the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU). The statement called on the Armenian authorities to hold a referendum as soon as possible on the issue of choosing between the EAEU and the European Union.
