The pause in trilateral talks on Ukraine is of a situational nature, Russian Presidential Spokesman Dmitry Peskov said, APA’s Moscow bureau reports.

According to him, the Kremlin hopes that the trilateral talks on Ukraine will resume after all parties, primarily the United States, agree on schedules.

It should be noted that yesterday the Kremlin spokesperson announced the suspension of the Moscow-Washington-Kyiv trilateral group on Ukraine. Peskov stated that the work of the Russia-US-Ukraine trilateral working group on security issues has been paused.

At the same time, Peskov noted that efforts to organize prisoner exchanges between Russia and Ukraine are ongoing, and that Russian President’s Special Representative Kirill Dmitriev is maintaining contacts with the American side on economic issues.

It should be recalled that three rounds of Russia-US-Ukraine trilateral talks have been held since the beginning of this year. The latest took place in Geneva on February 17–18. The fourth meeting had been planned for early March but was postponed due to the conflict in the Middle East.
