"The Kremlin does not comment on the situation on the battlefield. The Ministry of Defense is authorized to provide details about the special military operation," said Russian President's Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov while commenting on Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy's statements regarding the presence of Ukrainian forces in Belgorod region, APA's Moscow correspondent reports.
According to him, this directly relates to the details of the military operation.
"Therefore, such questions should be addressed to our Ministry of Defense. We do not provide information about the real situation on the battlefield," the Kremlin spokesman added.
Note that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has publicly admitted for the first time that his troops are active in Russia’s Belgorod region, which borders Ukraine.
Recall that in August of last year, the Ukrainian army entered Russia's Kursk region and took control of an area of over 1000 square kilometers. The Russian Armed Forces have now regained more than 86% of the territory in Kursk that was previously controlled by the Ukrainian Armed Forces and have entered Ukraine's Sumy region.
