The Kremlin will not comment on the events in Armenia, particularly the detention of the country’s former President Robert Kocharyan, Interfax reports.
“I would not like to comment now on the internal political events in Armenia; very complex processes are underway there,” Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said, commenting on Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan’s accusations against the opposition, as well as Kocharyan’s detention.
At the same time, Peskov stressed that he hopes the developments in Armenia “will be carried out strictly in accordance with the law and that all the rights of participants in the political process in the republic will be respected.”
