The Kremlin has commented on Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev’s proposal to freeze military operations in Ukraine, APA’s Moscow bureau reports.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov thanked the Kazakh President for his assessment of Russian President Vladimir Putin.
According to him, personal trust allows Putin and Tokayev to discuss the most difficult issues.
Peskov noted that the Russian President uses every meeting with the Kazakh leader to brief him on the situation in what Russia calls the “special military operation zone.”
“The personal relations between the two presidents are close, constructive and based on trust, and this allows them to discuss the most difficult issues on the international agenda, including issues related to the settlement of the Ukrainian conflict,” Peskov said.
Tokayev, speaking at a joint press conference with German Chancellor Friedrich Merz in Berlin, called Putin “the most acceptable political figure as the leader of Russia for Central Asia, Europe and the entire world.”
He also called for military operations in Ukraine to be frozen to allow for negotiations.
