Official Astana has expressed serious concern over drone attacks on tankers that were to be loaded with Kazakh oil via the terminal of the Caspian Pipeline Consortium in the Black Sea, said the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan, APA reports, citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.

According to the information, the ministry has held urgent meetings on this issue with the ambassadors of several European countries, the US side, and other foreign partners.

During the meetings, the importance of taking effective and immediate measures to ensure the security of oil transportation was emphasized.

Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs noted that the increase in the number of such incidents indicates rising risks to the operation of international energy infrastructure, which poses a serious threat to global energy security.

Two oil tankers were attacked by drones near the Caspian Pipeline Consortium in the Black Sea. KazMunayGas has confirmed that the oil tankers attacked by kamikaze drones in the Black Sea belong to the company. It was reported that an explosion was recorded as a result of the attack on the tanker Matilda, without a fire breaking out. No crew members were injured. The oil tanker remains seaworthy, and no serious damage has been recorded.
