Kazakhstan MFA: 9,050 citizens voted abroad in referendum

Voting by Kazakh citizens living or traveling abroad in the nationwide referendum on the draft of the new Constitution is continuing, said Arman Isetov, Deputy Foreign Minister of Kazakhstan, APA’s correspondent dispatched to Astana reports.

According to him, within the framework of the referendum, 71 polling stations are operating at Kazakhstan’s diplomatic missions abroad in 54 countries.

Arman Isetov said that voting abroad began at 03:00 Astana time. Taking into account time zone differences, all polling stations had opened by 19:00, and 14 had already completed their work.

The deputy minister noted that 9,050 citizens have so far cast their ballots at referendum polling stations abroad.

It was also reported that 64 polling stations will conclude their work by 00:00. Voting abroad will conclude at the polling station at the Consulate General of the Republic of Kazakhstan in San Francisco, United States, at 08:00 Astana time on March 16.
