The resumption of dialogue between the Russian and Ukrainian delegations in Türkiye is a sign that the countries are on the "right track" towards peace in Ukraine, Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Monday, APA reports citing TASS.
"Negotiations between the sides in the Istanbul meeting have resumed, suggesting that, in general, we are on the right track," Putin told journalists following a telephone call with US President Donald Trump on May 19.
Putin added that Russian Presidential Spokesman Dmitry Peskov and Presidential Aide Yury Ushakov would later report on the details of Monday's telephone conversation between the two leaders.
"If something needs to be clarified, then Press Secretary Peskov and Mr. Ushakov will clarify details of our talks with President Trump on the phone later," Russian President Vladimir Putin told reporters at a press conference after talking to the US president.
