The Iranian ambassador has not ruled out the possibility of holding new joint exercises with Armenia, APA reports, citing Armenian media.
According to Khalil Shirqolami, these drills could be larger in scale than the special forces maneuvers held on the border of the two countries in April last year.
The diplomat stated that military cooperation between Yerevan and Tehran is developing intensively, and that Defense Minister Papikyan’s current visit to Iran also confirms this.
The ambassador added that the visit had been planned long in advance and that the parties intend to discuss new areas and programs of cooperation.
