Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has rejected the request from Ruben Vardanyan’s family to appeal to U.S. President Donald Trump for support in securing his release, APA reports, citing Hraparak.
According to the publication, some representatives of the Armenian diaspora living in the United States appealed to the husband of Trump's daughter and asked him to support the White House leader's intervention in this issue.
According to the information, Trump said that he would take this step only upon the request of Yerevan. Although Armenia's Ambassador to the United States, Lilit Manukyan, conveyed the request to Nikol Pashinyan, he received a rejection. This position was justified by the fact that such an appeal could undermine the signing of a peace treaty with Azerbaijan.
