"Hraparak": Armenian authorities are preparing a new criminal case against Karekin II

The Armenian authorities are preparing a new criminal case against the Catholicos of All Armenians, Karekin II, APA reports, citing "Hraparak".

According to the information obtained by the publication, the Investigative Committee of Armenia is investigating the charge under the article "money laundering".

As part of this process, the director of the "Shoghakat" television company, Manya Ghazaryan, was interrogated.

Ghazaryan confirmed that she was invited to the Investigative Committee as a witness. She stated that the criminal case has no connection to “Shoghakat” and described it as unfounded.

According to reports, the case concerns an apartment allocated to the director of “Shoghakat” by a fund of the Armenian Church. The apartment was later sold. The Investigative Committee considers this transaction to constitute money laundering carried out by the Catholicos of All Armenians.
