"The "Caucasus" road connecting Russia and Azerbaijan will be expanded to four lanes by 2030," Alexander Lukashuk, department head at the Caucasus Federal Road Agency, stated during his speech at the TASS Caucasus Information Center, APA's Russia bureau reports.

He noted that the "Caucasus" highway stretches from the Pavlovskaya station in the Krasnodar region to the border of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

"Our priority today is the R-217 "Caucasus" road, which is part of the North-South international transport corridor connecting Russian regions with foreign countries. The highest traffic on this road includes tourism and goods transportation. Therefore, special attention is being paid to this direction. By 2030, the entire R-217 highway will be expanded to four lanes," the Russian official emphasized.
