The head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia, David Zalkaliani, on the air of Imedi channel welcomed the words of Russian President Vladimir Putin regarding the absence of the need to impose sanctions on Tbilisi against the background of the situation in relations between the two countries, APA reports citing Tellerreport.
“Of course, the anti-Russian provocative statements made by opposition representatives in Tbilisi, which aggravated the situation, were categorically unacceptable, and the Georgian authorities condemned them. I believe that the decision of the President of Russia is the only right decision that can only be welcomed, ”Interfax quotes him.
Earlier, Putin, commenting on the possibility of imposing sanctions on Tbilisi against the background of what is happening in relations between Russia and Georgia, said he did not consider this necessary out of respect for the Georgian people.
