"The damage caused by flooding in Dagestan and Chechnya has exceeded 1 billion rubles," said Yuri Chaika, the Russian President’s envoy to the North Caucasus Federal District, APA’s Moscow bureau reports.
Due to the scale of the destruction, Sberbank has launched a donation campaign to support affected families. The aid will be distributed among families to help restore property and purchase essential items.
Note that continuous heavy rains in southern Russia, especially in the Republic of Dagestan, led to a natural disaster. Floods caused significant damage to residential homes and roads in Makhachkala, Khasavyurt, Kaspiysk, and Derbent.
Officials reported that 6 people lost their lives as a result of the floods, and around 6,000 residents were affected.
