EU funds protests in Georgia through its embassies in Armenia — Russia's foreign intelligence

The EU mission in Tbilisi has been provided with considerable funds to support and coordinate protests, the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR) said in a statement, APA reports citing TASS.

"[The mission] is attempting to encourage street protests in Georgia, aimed at ‘demonstrating the strength of pro-European views among ordinary Georgians,’" the SVR said in a statement.

Each participant in the anti-government rallies is set to receive up to €120 per day for their involvement. The embassies of EU countries in Armenia are currently exploring ways to deliver cash currency to Tbilisi in case Georgia's authorities attempt to block the EU's funding channels, the SVR added.
