The SCO Plus format is an indication of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization’s growing influence and an important platform for expanding multilateral cooperation, President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon said during his speech at the SCO Plus meeting, APA’s correspondent dispatched to Bishkek reports.
He said that the world is facing deepening geopolitical contradictions and regional conflicts, growing threats of terrorism, extremism, and radicalism, as well as energy and food problems.
The President of Tajikistan emphasized that the consequences of climate change are being felt increasingly.
According to him, this challenge requires the development of a common strategy and the unification of efforts.
Emomali Rahmon recalled the initiatives put forward by Tajikistan in the fields of water resources, climate, and sustainable development.
He noted that the Dushanbe Framework Programme had been proposed with the aim of contributing to the global water agenda beyond 2030.
The President of Tajikistan said that inter-civilizational dialogue, peace, friendship, and tolerance are important tools against extremism.
