“The United States is making rude and brazen attempts to interfere in Georgia's internal affairs using the upcoming parliamentary elections,” said Director of the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service Sergei Narishkin who is on a visit to Baku, Azerbaijan, APA’s Moscow correspondent reports.

According to him, Western countries bloc is not calming down at all, it is trying to shake the situation in the South Caucasus countries: “Russian Foreign Intelligence Service in particular, received information that, at the request of the US Department of State, the OSCE/ODIHR has already prepared an interim report and it contains the thesis that supposedly, there are no conditions for fair and open elections in Georgia, which is not true,” the head of Intelligence Service noted.

Narishkin emphasized that the purpose of this action of the US Department of State and the monitoring structure of the OSCE is a rather rude and brazen attempt to interfere in the internal affairs of Georgia.

"The West will try to prevent healthy, nationally oriented forces from coming to power. However, I am sure that the people of Georgia will make the right and accurate choice," Narishkin added.

It should be noted that parliamentary elections in Georgia will be held on October 26.
