Russia hopes that Armenia will continue constructive work in the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexey Overchuk said in an interview with Vesti news service, News.am reports.
This is how Overchuk answered the question about Armenia's continuation of work in the EAEU.
"We [i.e. Russia] certainly strive for this and see Armenia as a participant in the Eurasian Economic Union. And over the little more than ten years that Armenia has been a member of the union, the country's GDP has grown almost three times. Per capita income, per capita GDP, respectively, have also grown three times. At its peak in 2024, our trade had reached $12.4 billion, in the case when Armenia's GDP during that period was at the level of around $26-27 billion. And we certainly hope that Armenia will continue to the constructive work with other participant states of the Eurasian Economic Union," the Russian deputy premier said.
