Head of Dagestan Sergey Melikov will leave his post and move to another position, Russian President Vladimir Putin stated, APA’s Moscow bureau reports.
According to the information, Dagestan representatives proposed to Putin the candidacies of Chairman of the Supreme Court of Dagestan Fyodor Shukin and Deputy Plenipotentiary Representative of the President in the North Caucasus Federal District Magomed Ramazanov to lead the republic’s government. Putin supported the proposal.
It should be noted that Melikov has led Dagestan since 2020. Prior to this position, he served as Deputy Head of Rosgvardiya.
