The Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) will discuss suspending Armenia's voting rights.

Russia's representative to the CSTO, Viktor Vasilyev, told RIA Novosti that the issue of suspending Armenia's voting rights could be discussed in November.

According to him, the matter will be put on the agenda at the next session of the CSTO Collective Security Council, which is scheduled to take place in Moscow on November 11.

Vasilyev stressed that Article 25 of the CSTO Charter provides for the possibility of suspending a member state's right to nominate its citizens for quota-based positions, as well as its voting rights within the organization, if it fails to pay its budget contributions for two years.

It should be noted that the above-mentioned situation has already been in effect for more than two years. Armenia has not nominated its citizens for quota-based positions in the CSTO Secretariat and has also withdrawn its representatives from the CSTO Joint Staff.
