Russia’s Prosecutor General’s Office has sent the criminal case related to the incident at “Crocus City” to court, a lawyer participating in the investigation as a defense counsel has informed TASS, APA reports.
Recall that 18 people were detained in connection with the terrorist attack at “Crocus City Hall.”
Several criminal cases have been opened under charges including “terrorist act,” “preparation for a terrorist act,” “participation in terrorist organization activities,” and “illegal circulation of weapons and explosives.”
The accused are charged with participating in the activities of ISIS’s Afghan branch, the “Wilayat Khorasan” organization.
The terrorist attack at “Crocus City Hall” occurred on March 22, 2024, at around 20:00 Moscow time. The attack involved mass shootings and explosions. The attackers opened fire on civilians in the concert hall, set the venue on fire, and then fled by car. The attack resulted in 145 deaths, including 6 children, and 551 injuries. Explosions and fires nearly destroyed the concert hall building completely.
