The Council for the Reform of the Armenian Church issued an official statement today, calling on bishops not to attend the meeting abroad convened by Catholicos Karekin II, APA reports, citing Armenian media.
The statement demands the cancellation of the bishops’ meeting to be held in Austria and stresses the necessity of avoiding actions that could create division.
The Council urged the bishops not to join this venture and to reject actions that undermine the unity of the church.
In addition, bishops were advised not to obey the provocative steps of the current church leadership, which is under foreign influence and acts against the state, and to firmly resist its moral and psychological pressure.
