The assembly of bishops that Catholicos of All Armenians Garegin II planned to hold on December 10–12 has been postponed due to pressure from Armenia’s National Security Service, the newspaper Hraparak reported, citing its sources, APA reports.
According to the newspaper, the security bodies openly informed Garegin II that holding the meeting and potential decisions regarding ten bishops could lead to undesirable consequences for them.
The newspaper’s sources claim that the security service employees also disclosed the names of the clergymen, whom they say are at risk of being detained.
