Ivan Us, the son of a Belarusian presidential candidate who fought on the side of Russia and was considered missing, has died in Ukraine, APA reports, citing Joint Forces Command of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
According to the information, Belarusian mercenary Ivan Us signed a contract in January of this year and joined the war against Ukraine. However, two months later, in March, contact with him was lost and he was considered missing. In October, Ivan Us' remains were found among the bodies of Russian soldiers handed over by Ukraine and his identity was established.
His father was a candidate in the last Belarusian presidential elections, but failed, gaining only 0.4% of the vote.
