The Belarusian Armed Forces will receive eight more Mi-35 helicopters from Russia, Commander of the 50th combined airbase Vladimir Skorkin announced on the air of STV, APA reports.
"We expect it by the end of the year. There will be a full squadron of Mi-35s," he said.
On August 17, the Ministry of Defense of Belarus announced that the first batch of four "Mi-35M" helicopters imported from Russia had arrived in the republic. The helicopters are expected to be operational within a few weeks.
"Mi-35M" multi-purpose attack helicopter is a modernized version of "Mi-24" and is designed for destroying armored vehicles, enemy manpower, fire support for motorized rifle and tank units, landing troops, and evacuating the wounded.
