Belarus issues protest note to Ukraine

Ukraine's Chargé d'Affaires Ivan Novitsky was summoned to the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs today, the Belarusian Foreign Ministry stated, APA reports.

According to the information, a protest note was handed to the diplomat over a drone attack allegedly carried out by a Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicle on a civilian bus carrying Belarusian citizens, mainly children, in Russia's Bryansk region on June 17.

The Ukrainian diplomat was informed that the attack killed one Belarusian citizen and injured six others, including five children, some of whom are reported to be in serious condition.

Belarus has demanded a comprehensive explanation from Ukraine, as well as an immediate and objective investigation into the incident. Minsk also requested to be informed about measures taken to ensure that all those responsible are brought to strict accountability.
