Belarus has no fault in deterioration of relations with Armenia, Lukashenko says

"Official Yerevan's leaning toward the West and the European Union has played a role in creating this situation in relations with Armenia," President of the Republic of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko said, APA reports citing SB News.

He emphasized that despite what has happened, he personally is interested in continuing bilateral relations: "It would be good to establish the friendly relations between us and Armenia same as before. Believe me, we have no fault in this situation. We were trying to help Armenia and closely cooperate. However, we saw that official Yerevan began to shift toward the West and the European Union."

Note that relations between Belarus and Armenia have deteriorated since mid-June. As a result, the ambassadors of both countries were recalled for consultations.

Following this, Armenia's Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced that he would not visit Belarus during Lukashenko's tenure.
