The Prosecutor General of Armenia has submitted a motion to the parliament to strip former Defense Minister Seyran Ohanyan of his parliamentary immunity, APA reports.
The opposition left the chamber in protest.
Note that the criminal case against the head of the "Hayastan" faction concerns the illegal appropriation of 10,500 square meters of land in the Drahtik community of the Gegharkunik province during 2010-2015. Ohanyan is accused of appropriating this land as Minister of Defense and building a mansion at the expense of the budget. The faction secretary Artsvik Minasyan is also involved in this case, and a motion regarding him will be submitted later.
