Armenian vice speaker criticizes Russian TV host over remarks on Armenia

Armenian Parliament Vice Speaker Ruben Rubinyan has sharply criticized Russian television host Vladimir Solovyov over his recent statements, calling him a “dog” in a post on Facebook, APA reports.

Commenting on Solovyov’s remarks, Rubinyan wrote, “The dog barks, but the caravan moves on,” clarifying that the term “dog” was directed at Solovyov. He described the Russian TV host as a close associate and compatriot of Russian businessman Samvel Karapetyan.

According to Rubinyan, the “caravan” symbolizes Armenia, which he said is moving forward confidently on a path of peace and development.

The comments follow Solovyov’s statement on air suggesting the possibility of a “special military operation” in Armenia. In response, Russian Ambassador Sergey Kopirkin was summoned to Armenia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, where he was presented with a note of protest expressing strong indignation over the remarks broadcast on Russian state television.
