Armenian speaker talked of NoP handed to Russia: Let them think twice next time

Speaker of the Armenian Parliament Alen Simonyan commented on the issue of summoning the Russian ambassador to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and handing note of protest, APA reports.

According to him, Armenia has never presented itself as a non-ally or non-partner side on the relations with Russia.

Simonyan noted that on the program broadcasted by Channel One Russia which caused the summoning of the ambassador to MFA, insulting expressions were used against high-ranking officials of Armenia, and this type of program is not the first such case.

The chairman of the Armenian Parliament also mentioned the statements of the Speakperson of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Maria Zakharova, famous people engaged in propaganda and insults.

Simoyan said that such steps create the opposite effect in Armenian society.

“Let them think twice before taking such a step next time,” Simoyan emphasized.

Note that yesterday Russia's Ambassador to Armenia Sergey Kopirkin was summoned to the Armenian Foreign Ministry. It was noted that completely unacceptable statements were made against Armenia’s higher-ranking officials in the program aired on Russia's First Channel on October 23, 2023. The Ambassador was handed a note of protest.
