Some high-ranking clerics do not understand that the Armenian Apostolic Church is the people's church, the church of each and every one of us, said Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, APA reports.
He noted that “the Armenian Apostolic Church has been defiled by the violation of the vow of celibacy.”
The Prime Minister declared that “clerics who violate the vow of celibacy cannot continue their spiritual service.”
Note that Nikol Pashinyan has been criticizing the Armenian Church for some time. He demands an immediate answer to the question of whether Catholicos Garegin II has violated the vow of celibacy. Pashinyan stated that if Garegin II has a child, he cannot be the Catholicos of All Armenians.
