The parliamentary faction of Armenia's ruling Civil Contract party intends to propose a draft law on ensuring the financial accountability of the church to the state, the faction's secretary Artur Hovhannisyan wrote about this on Facebook, APA reports, citing Armenian media.
"On Saturday and Sunday, I conducted a poll on my Facebook page "Should the Armenian Apostolic Church provide financial reporting to the state?" 2,679 users participated in the poll: 96% (2,575) said yes, 4% (104) said no. Legislative work should be carried out in this direction," he noted.
