Armenia's Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan clarified why Catholicos II Karekin was not allowed to visit the Sardarapat memorial complex previous day, APA reports.
He stated that the Catholicos was not allowed to visit at that time because he was not invited to the event held at the complex.
"We were unaware that he was expecting an invitation to the event. The police were simply trying to clarify that the patriarch wanted to continue his provocative actions with his supporters" Pashinyan said.
The Prime Minister also clarified Archbishop Bagrat Galstyan's request to meet with him. He stated that any individual wishing to do so must go through the relevant procedures.
