Russian President Vladimir Putin had a phone conversation with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, APA reports, citing the Kremlin.

The phone conversation took place at the initiative of the Armenian side.

Nikol Pashinyan provided detailed information about his meeting with U.S. President Donald Trump and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev held in Washington on August 8.

Vladimir Putin emphasized the importance of steps that contribute to ensuring lasting peace between Yerevan and Baku.

The Russian side reaffirmed its readiness to assist in the implementation of the highest-level trilateral agreements reached in 2020–2022 — including the comprehensive normalization of Armenia-Azerbaijan relations and the unblocking of transport communications in the region.

Vladimir Putin, in turn, spoke about the main outcomes of his meeting with U.S. President’s Special envoy Steven Witkoff and the preparations for his upcoming meeting with Donald Trump in Alaska.

The Prime Minister of Armenia welcomed the steps aimed at the peaceful resolution of the Ukraine crisis.

Emphasis was placed on the further development of trade and investment cooperation and mutual engagement within the framework of the Eurasian Economic Union, and some current issues on the bilateral agenda were also addressed.
