Armenian Parliament Speaker Alen Simonyan has said that he cannot envision Russia’s participation in the TRIPP project, APA reports, citing news.am.
“How do you imagine that? TRIPP is an Armenian–American organization,” Simonyan told journalists on Tuesday.
According to him, transit through Armenian territory is not limited solely to the TRIPP framework. Simonyan stressed that TRIPP is being implemented within a peace framework thanks to the President of the United States.
He added that Russia should not focus on TRIPP alone: “This is not the only route that passes or will pass through Armenia. There are many routes.”
Note that Mikhail Galuzin, Deputy Foreign Minister of Russia, said in an interview with Izvestia that Moscow is considering the possibility of dialogue with Armenia on the parameters of participation in the TRIPP project.
