The Armenian Parliament, by a majority vote, approving the petition of the Prosecutor General Anna Vardapetyan, granted permission to initiate criminal cases against independent MP Ovik Agazaryan and MP Taron Margaryan from the opposition faction My Honor, APA reports.

65 MPs voted in favor of depriving Ovik Agazaryan of his parliamentary immunity, and 0 voted against. 67 MPs voted in favor of depriving Taron Margaryan of his parliamentary immunity, and 2 voted against.

"The charges against Agazaryan state that he promised another person to organize the export of agricultural livestock using forged documents. The export was supposed to be carried out by bribing officials from the Food Safety Inspectorate of the Republic of Armenia. Agazaryan intended to receive 200-300 thousand dollars from businessmen to organize the export of 150-200 heads of cattle. Additionally, Agazaryan allegedly demanded a bribe of 23 thousand dollars and 300 thousand drams from citizen Aram Mkrtchyan to organize the demolition of the dilapidated building of School No. 136 in Ajapnyak and to provide land for the construction of a residential building," it is stated.

As for Taron Margaryan, he will face various charges, including money laundering, abuse of office, and land appropriation under several articles.
