Armenian Minister of Internal Affairs Vahe Ghazaryan urged the residents who came from Azerbaijan's Garabagh region to hand over the firearms that they have brought with them, APA reports citing Sputnik Armenia.
Ghazaryan noted that a certain amount of weapons and ammunition have been carried into Armenia.
Minister noted that there are cases of voluntary surrendering of weapons: "4 sub-machine guns and three smooth-bore firearms have been handed over within three days."
According to him, law enforcement agencies constantly conduct explanatory work with citizens and urge them to voluntarily surrender their weapons.
