The Consulate of Armenia in Yekaterinburg has ceased its operations, Ura.ru shared this citing the republic's WhatsApp channel named “Consulate in Yekaterinburg,” APA reports.
Before the suspension of the consulate’s activity, Narek Spartakyan, who was the Honorary Consul of Armenia in Yekaterinburg, was dismissed from his position. The reason for this was the former consul’s support of the Armenian Church.
"Dear citizens, due to the termination of the status of Narek Spartakyan as the Honorary Consul of Armenia in Yekaterinburg, we inform you that the office of the said honorary consulate has ceased its operations. Over the course of seven years, more than 57,000 citizens have contacted us," the statement on the channel said.
It is recommended to apply to other consular institutions of Armenia in Russia regarding all matters.
