Armenia has sent a note of protest to Belarus, APA reports citing Armenian media.

The Press Secretary of Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia Ani Badalyan said that Yerevan has sent a note of protest to Minsk regarding the statement of the press secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belarus.

“A note of protest was transmitted to the Belarusian side regarding the comments of the spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belarus made on June 13, particularly the interference in the internal affairs of the Republic of Armenia,” Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Ani Badalyan said on Friday.

“We should add that while expressing wishes of a leadership that thinks about the future of the country, one should have a such leadership. In the case of Belarus, it’s currently indeed a luxury,” she added.

Note that previous day, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said during his speech at Parliament that as long as Lukashenko is the president, no official representative of Armenia will visit Belarus. Then he recalled Armenia's Ambassador from Belarus. The Belarusian side has also declared that it will take a analogical step.

Belarusian MFA yesterday said in its commentary that "if someone has decided to divert attention from domestic problems with the image of a foreign enemy, this is not a far-sighted position," - to Armenia.
