"Armenia has given up the idea of leasing the 42-kilometer section of the corridor passing through Syunik," said Arman Egoyan, an Armenian MP from the "Civil Agreement" faction, APA reports.
"The idea of leasing the section of the corridor passing through the Syunik region was put forward by the United States. However, Armenia considered this format unacceptable. We saw the risk not in the functions themselves, but in the lease. This could lead to concessions on issues of sovereignty. This option was unacceptable for us," he noted.
According to the MP, an exchange of views was held between the parties, but the discussion was terminated after the Armenian side refused.
