Armenia once again boycotted an event of Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), APA’s Russia bureau reports.

Armenia refused to send a high-level delegation to the 101st session of the Economic Council of the Commonwealth of Independent States.

Thus, the official Yerevan has sent Armenian ambassador to Belarus Razmik Khumaryan to the 101st meeting of the CIS Economic Council held in the International Trade Center.

Usually, Deputy Prime Minister Mger Grigoryan represented Armenia at the meeting of the CIS Economic Council. This time, Yerevan was content to send Armenian ambassador to Belarus to the event.

Note that the Deputy Prime Minister of Azerbaijan Yagub Eyyubov is representing Azerbaijan in the 101st meeting of the CIS Economic Council. Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation Alexei Overchuk is participating on Russia’s side.

Recall that Armenia has been refusing to participate in CIS and Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) events for some time. The Official Yerevan refused to send a high-level delegation to the 100th anniversary meeting of the CIS Economic Council held on December 8 last year. Armenia was represented by its ambassador to Belarus that year too.
