Ambassador of Uzbekistan Asadov has been summoned to the Russian Foreign Ministry, APA reports citing Rossiyskaya Gazeta.
The ambassador protested the statements of the rector of the University of Journalism and Communication of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Sherzod Kudratkhodjaev, about the country’s residents who do not speak the Uzbek language.
As the publication notes, “he characterized it in an extremely offensive and completely unacceptable manner.”
The tone and content of such statements, the Russian Foreign Ministry stressed, completely contradict the relations of deep partnership and strategic partnership that unite Russia and Uzbekistan.
