The health of Russian President Vladimir Putin is being closely monitored at "the highest level," Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on Friday, APA reports citing Tele Trader.
Speaking to local media, Peskov said: "Of course, these days, especially with regard to the head of state, the health protection is as high as possible."
The spokesman's comments come after Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin announced that he tested positive for COVID-19. However, Putin has been working from home for over a month to stay in isolation as a precautionary measure.
