Repeated underground tremors measuring 4.5 on the Richter scale have occurred in the Black Sea area, Sochi Mayor Andrey Proshunin announced on his Telegram channel, APA reports, citing RBC.
“At 16:05, repeated tremors occurred in the Black Sea area, 23 kilometers from the coast of Sochi. Seismologists report a magnitude of 4.5,” the mayor emphasized.
According to him, there have been no reports of casualties or damage in Sochi, the tremors did not affect infrastructure facilities, and they are operating normally.
Sochi is located in a seismic risk zone, and tremors measuring 3–4 points occur periodically in the city.
Today, a 4.4-magnitude earthquake was recorded in Sochi. The epicenter was located 27 kilometers from Sochi. The tremors lasted for several seconds.
